Wetaskiwin’s Canada Day 2025

Thanks to the combined efforts of several organizations, and with the generous financial support of the City of Wetaskiwin and the Department of Canadian Heritage, Canada Day celebrations in Wetaskiwin are back again!!

We at the Wetaskiwin District Heritage Museum and City of Wetaskiwin Archives are proud to chair the Canada Day Committee and act as your main source of information. Stop by the Heritage Museum Centre today to get your Passport to Canada Day!

Visit the participating locations listed on the front of the passport and get it stamped. Once you are done, head on back to the Heritage Museum and drop the passport off to be entered into a draw to win some increadible prizes!! Passports do not need to be completed to be eligible for the prize draw, but only those with all 10 stamps will be eligible for our grand prize draws.

Passports must be received at the Heritage Museum prior to 5:00 pm, Saturday, July 5, 2025.

Description: Freshly made pancakes and sausages with coffee and juice. Breakfast costs are: Ages 13+ $8.00, Ages 6-12 $6.00, Under 6 FREE

Description: We cordially invite you to join the Wetaskiwin District Heritage Museum in celebrating Canada Day. Enjoy FREE cake, freshly brewed gourmet coffee, and a selection of loose leaf teas, as well as other refreshments as you explore a variety of engaging activities, including our renowned spin-to-win prize wheel, Canada flag hunt, scavenger hunts, and a range of games and crafts suitable for all ages. Discover three floors of exhibits that highlight the rich heritage, history, and culture of Wetaskiwin City, County, and the Maskwacis Four Nations. Be sure to visit our unique Pioneer Playrooms located downstairs in the Children’s Legacy Centre, offering a special space for our younger visitors. Admission is FREE, as always. We look forward to celebrating Canada Day with you and your family.

Description: Please join us at the Wetaskiwin Art & Craft Centre for hands on crafts for all ages.

Where: Precision Gymnastics Association, 4520 48 Ave (in the downstairs area of the curling club)

Description: Precision Gymnastics will have an inclusive gymnastics circuit throughout the gym so participants can try all the equipment. A waiver must be signed at the door for all participants.

Where: Reynolds Museum, 6426 – 40 Ave

Description: Regular Admission. Reynolds Museum is showcasing their Making Tracks: Crawlers, Tractors & Snowmobiles Exhibit during regular operating hours.

Where: 5000 block of 51 Avenue downtown (in front of the Library) as well as in the Royal Canadian Legion Branch#86, 5003 – 52 Avenue.

Description: Join us on July 1st for our Canada Day Market! Be sure to bring your passports to have them stamped for a chance to win some fantastic prizes. We look forward to celebrating with you!

Where: Main Street Wetaskiwin, 50 Avenue between 47 Street at 55A Street

When: Start time is 11:00AM

Description:The parade will assemble in the parking lot of the Wetaskiwin Recreation Grounds. We kindly ask spectators to line up along Main Street, starting near City Hall, and continue down to Diamond Jubilee Park to watch the procession. Attendees are welcome to bring chairs or stand along the parade route to enjoy the event comfortably. We also recommend monitoring weather reports to dress accordingly, ensuring you can fully enjoy the festivities regardless of the forecast.

Description: Come celebrate our 4th Annual Canada Day Carnival with us! Enjoy a variety of classic carnival games, featuring exciting new twists, and plenty of prizes to win. This family-friendly event is perfect for all ages, ensuring everyone has a fantastic time.

Description: Celebrate Canada Day with us at the Wetaskiwin Regional Canadian Legion Br. 86 on July 1! Enjoy the Lions Pancake Breakfast in the courtyard, while part of the Canada Day Market takes place indoors. Hot dog sales will start after the parade, and there will be plenty of activities for kids. Plus, don’t miss live music from Cod Tongues in the courtyard!

Where: Manluk Theatre for the Performing Arts, 5002 – 53 Avenue

Description: This is your opportunity to go behind the scenes at the Manluk Theatre for the Performing Arts, including a visit to the famously creepy toilet!

Description: Get ready for an exciting day with face painting, fun stuffy rides, the Loonie Carnival, a live band performance, a free shuttle to the race track, and spectacular fireworks at 11 o’clock!

Free Shuttle Rides from the Mall, Behind Starbucks, and Co-op Place Rec / Drill Hall at 7:30; 8:30; and 9:30.
