What is the Women of Aspenland?
Women of Aspenland is a documentation and exhibit project, and its purpose is to tell and preserve the stories of special women in our communities who represent something about who we have been in the past and who we are in the present. Each woman’s life story reflects some of the diverse traditions that shape our collective identity as a community. The goal of the Women of Aspenland project is to document women’s history and understand the important roles of women in our community over time. Each October, coinciding with Women’s History Month, up to four women are inducted into the Heritage Museum’s Women of Aspenland exhibit. The nominated women are revered and honoured by their family, friends, and fellow community members for their talents, their selflessness, and their incredible dedication to enriching the lives of others. Throughout the years, the Women of Aspenland project has inducted women of various ages, talents, and backgrounds.
