Mule Train Painting

It depicts a mule train crossing the Gwynne Valley ca. 1904 when they were building railway grade in the valley. It was painted by Hildur (Carlson) Sherbeck who was born near Gwynne on January 30, 1897. She married Alfred Sherbeck in 1919 and the couple moved to Wetaskiwin in 1922. Hildur, who was featured as one of the Women of Aspenland in 2000, spent her days washing, baking, cooking, gardening, and looking after her children. She was also one of the many members of the Wetaskiwin Art Club.
